WHAT WE DO

OUR GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Help consumers and retailers

The activities we will organise to help them will include the following: campaigning, lobbying, organising food fairs, holding conferences, sending delegations, organising business trips and publications etc.>

FOR CONSUMERS

  1. Campaigning for halal food, i.e. raising awareness within the Muslim community, in particular, about halal food, and within the whole community, in general.
  2. Campaigning for the selling of halal food in supermarkets.
  3. Educating the UK consumers about the advantages and benefits of halal food.
  4. Organising seminars.
  5. Informing the community and the consumers about the harms of sugary products to their children and to themselves. The AHR will be advocating and actively campaigning through publications etc. against sugary products in superstores and local stores.
  6. Ensuring the correct labelling and appropriate displaying of halal products by retailers and wholesalers.
  7. Arranging food fairs and introducing various range of halal products to the community.
  8. Providing regular information through the website, advertisements, booklets and various other publications.

FOR RETAILERS

  1. Campaign: We will campaign for the needs of the retailers to the government and to non-governmental organisations. For example, we will be campaigning for the reduction of tariffs rate, especially, on the imports from Bangladesh.
  2. Lobbying: We will be lobbying the government to uphold and promote the interests of the retailers.
  3. Conferences: We will be organising conferences and seminars for local and international businessmen.
  4. Awards: We will be launching an Awards System to incentivise established businesses, start-ups, as well as emerging businesses.
  5. Delegations: We will be sending delegations to maximise economic benefits and secure financial gains to national and international governments, as well as non-governmental organisations.
  6. Business trips: We will be organising business trips to explore business prospects locally and internationally.
  7. BPublications: We will be sending informative materials to our members and other retailers frequently to provide them with up-to-date, accurate and business-related information. Additionally, our members will have the opportunity to advertise and promote their products in our printed materials. Our dedicated website will also be updated constantly to provide the members with real-time, up-to-date information.
